Anyone fishing?

Well, I've double checked and I cannot find a dedicated on/off switch anywhere!

Even got the missus to have a look too, in case I was missing something.

It's a bit of a pain like I said, because I have to keep disconnecting the battery between launches.

Other than that, it's as "perfect" as a £60.00 bait boat can get.

This is the actual one I bought, and as you can see there is nowhere to fit the "torch light" on the front, mine just has a small LED where that goes on other models....

It's showing at £67.99 now with two batteries, It came from China so I did have to wait a little while for delivery, about two weeks if I remember correctly.

I don't think it sailed over on it's own though, even with the two batteries.

I cant link the youtube vid but if you look up user fenyutas, unboxing bait boat your see where it might/should be.

Well I'll be blowed! I was looking for a "switch" as depicted in the instruction leaflet GH. You Sir, are a gentleman!!

Whoohooo I have now got the perfect £60.00 baitboat.

Thanks a bunch.

It works!

A full weekend off this week, but I'll only be doing a single night as with my new friend I can't go straight from work, I have to come home and take the dog out and feed her first before loading up and going to Essex.

So it is Saturday morning load up and then drive to Nazeing for an overnight.

It will be Sky's first night fishing trip with me, and I must confess I look forward to fishing with a dog again.

Hi Nick

So I'm not really interested in if you caught anything , as you are daft enough to do a 140 mile round trip and fish overnight in the cold    :P  .

The question is how did Sky get on ? .

I'm glad Sky has got 1 brown eye as Huskies with 2 blue eyes look a bit psycho to me - but I'm sure they're not  :P .

A blank session at Nazeing, but it was the first time I have taken Sky fishing overnight.

I made an error yesterday by not putting her post deep enough into the ground to keep her on the lead when somebody walked around with their dogs off the lead, and she went for a chase, but stopped when I called her.

Then last night in the dark, a fox or deer came along the path and she chased after it, but again stopped when I called her.

She slept on the spare unhooking mat in the bivvy, right next to my bedchair with no problems.

This morning as I put my gear in the car she decided to have a run around the car park, again, not intended, but she burnt off some energy before the trip back.

She ate her dinner and breakfast, played and chewed with a bone and filled hoof, so had things to do as well as watching out for birds, squirrels and people walking by.

All in all, she has done pretty well.

Just a question for you. What milk you use ?

As coffee whitener is out.

Nice pooch Nick. Good company and watch dog now the bivvy door gets zipped. Just wish they allowed dogs on my water, my little Jack Russel, Archie would make for a good hot water bottle.

I rarely shut the bivvy door, so at night her lead goes under the bedchair foot, so she has to move me if she decides to go on a run. I will take her blanket, but as she is a Siberian Husky, she actually gets uncomfortable if it is too warm.

The coffee pot, really easy that one, I don't have milk in tea or coffee

I don't even like cappuccinos or lattes despite being able to make them pretty well when I was a manager in a coffee shop.

Occasionally I do have hot porridge for breakfast, so take a normal semi-skimmed bottle. A pint is enough for 2 days breakfasts!

"Greeks baring gifts"..... beware the inlaws .... There'll be a job need doing soon. I'd spend £5 of it on a handy sling for your arm. Just in case lol.....

Lol ill keep that in mind :)

Ive managed to bag friday for a quick session. Ill be trying zigs myself plus the method feeder. I got a few new tactics I want to try out from next week too. Itll be good to end the year with another fish out of that lake.

I'm desperate for a December fish, which would be quite an achievement on the lake I'm on. I've dragged my heels a bit and opted to fish comfortably. Need to be more pro active. Fingers crossed.

Same here bud, I think I picked the hardest lake in the area to kick my carp fishing off. I keep saying ill move to another pool, but just knowing they are in there I doubt ill give up. Though I will say ive found it easier to find excuses not to go fishing then to go lately.

Thats going to change come January & ill try my best to get my 2 targets by spring..

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm just about to leave. Unavoidable late start because of kids and things. On the plus side I visited last night and introduced some bait in a few spots so at least I'm not turning up completely cold. Not expecting any ice as it was 4 degrees min last night down this way. Good luck all!

Well unless something happens in the next 15 minutes I'll be chalking up a blank today. Have fished two different rivers today but spent most of the time walking and getting familiar with new stretches so I'm fine with it. The new river was really intimidating actually. I'm going to do some maths later to figure out how many equivalent acres of water it is roughly. Bumped into some Europeans pike fishing with no net. I shouldn't assume that was bad news but I did. Are pike good eating?

Pike, Carp, chub , perch, eels they're not fussy. You want to check the stock if you can in some way, before you commit yourself bud. Some stretches local to me have been hammered. I doubt it's the first time they've been there. Sorry mate, but you don't want to end up on a wild goose chase.

It worries me that you might be right. I heard some rumours already. I gotta say I didn't see a single fish today the river looked very barren this time of year. Actually tell a lie I saw a dead bream :(
