That will be interesting , what do you plan to feed the fry on , Emmcee ? .

😃

I've looked online and it says once they hatch then they live off the egg sack for a few days. After that it says to feed 1 day old brine shrimp as they are tiny, though these are hard to get apparently so it said to hard boil an egg. Take out the yoke and put it in some water and turn it to a liquid.  Then add drops of this. Do this for a week or so I think it said and then onto solids. So I guess fry crumb.

Well I've taken a couple of pics.

The first shows what I can only guess are non fertilised eggs. Still white and with what seems to be a jelly forming around them. 20200526_062741.thumb.jpg.b9f2bd511c0b11973e13f66a14b1d15b.jpg

This next pic though is showing what looks to be embryos and the eggs obviously clear.

You can just make out black dots/ lines in the egg.

Looking good I feel. Certainly a lot more infertile than fertile.

These eggs were collected on friday.

I've seen 5 or 6 individual ones now.

Just got to keep them alive now. I've got stage 1 fry food being delivered tomorrow touch wood and stage 2 being delivered next week. Let's hope I need to use it.

nice looking lake that elmo some interesting places to fish to good luck mate

Lovely lake tbh, not too manhandled, still a bit rough around the edges and there is plenty to think about, this swim is a lot more overgrown than when I fished it years ago

I think I've got a bit of a chunk in the net certainly a bigger than normal one 😁

Well just got home from a rather uneventful 2 night session. One bloke was on the fish and had 6 fish, I had a stockie and the rest blanked.

Now when I left there were half a dozen fry visible and on looking in the tank today, well there are loads. Roughly 50 or more I'd say. 20200529_111702.thumb.jpg.a3bfec370c6a242d632bb6f00c8932ba.jpg20200529_111708.thumb.jpg.c3c6d3a004c71dc48dedb8d1ad550cfe.jpg

I ordered brine shrimp which has now arrived so I've got the correct food for the fish. Just need to keep an eye on the water quality now . I've some bacteria balls in to help eat the waste. Fingers crossed all stays good. I just hope they are actually carp fry haha

If they turn out to be bream you could always try and feed them up to become a new bream record, start a new trend in fish farming the super bream 😁👍
