Hi there, This is my first entry on this site and I'm looking for any information that may help. I have been fishing a local fishery for quite a while and have enjoyed reasonable success. Last year the owner restocked the lake with quite a few bigger fish and since then it has been very poor on the "fish in the net" front. All the regulars are having the same problems and even the owner has said that he is disappointed in the results. Recently we have been told that on restocking it could take a couple of years to come on again. Have any fellow carp enthusiasts come across this problem before? Thank in in advance for any help.

most likely not stocked properly. Should know the biomass of fish in the lake before adding any others. If adding larger fish you do it a few at a time over the course of a couple of years. If a large number of bigger fish were added the the ecosystem and original fish will be upset and unbalanced. Stressed fish do not feed much. A likely cause of the reduced catch rates. Cant be undone now. It will settle down over the next couple of years.
