Introduction from the carp hauler

Recommended Posts

No mate, just an over confident lad who has spent much of his time haulin carp from overloaded commys and a few foriegn holiday commys, good luck to him, enlightenment awaits, but he is asking for it if he keeps boasting.

aint boasting what most kids do best?

wait till he has to sit in a bush thru rain and sun for days on end just to get a look at the lake beast, never mind haul it

that is a leveler that one.

he might knock my catch rate but, untill yesterday i cant think the last time i fished a commie and most of my fish are targeted so ten to twelve a year is damned good, now THATS  haulin images.razzjpg_zps8rfnmzkl.jpg

At least he didn't just bust in asking "Where can I catch a 30 minimum within 2 hrs of [insert town]", those are the worst. There's nothing wrong with being passionate about fishing, and we should all hope to be that way and remain that way because that's how we get the most from it. The thing that impressed me about this forum years ago was that there were members who were just teenagers who were skilled and successfull anglers, and there were more than a few of them. The youtube videos must still be around and show they know their stuff. Of course they didn't claim to be world-beaters but it was evident that they were very good. Elder doesn't always mean better, but some of those teenage experts from 12 and 14 years ago are still with us and better than ever. [emoji1] Regarding the difference in catch rates between hard waters and runs waters, I know England and France are full of carp lakes, but to anyone in the world not familiar with your system of stocked privately owned lakes and paid sessions it would all look like shooting fish in a barrel, regardless of the skill required to play and land a fish. I've been on this forum 12 years and I'll take your collective word that some lakes are much harder than others, but that's what it looks like, small water with big fish. It's all so far removed from ordinary natural fishing it's hard to explain to the uninitiated.

What's wrong with bayeswater :/

Nothing , who said there was ? It's a difficult water in the Carp haulers vicinity that he may have emptied at some stage .

Possibly making his input very useful indeed if that is the case .

just checking that it wasn't being used as an example to show an "easy commy" :P

So if an easy water is a commi does that mean tough ones are Nazi's.....?

Poor hauler, think everyone is getting a little precious, good on him for being proud, show yourself at the social buddy. (CM please show up in a bayeswater hoodie and some korda trainers calling yourself hauler that'd be quality!!! )

Well personally I think your real hauler, hope you ain't been pushed out.

But the amount of times at work I see young lads "just having bants" and it ends up with a fist in the face.....

I think as welder said there is a lot to be said for experiance and respect to elders though. Nothing can beat time ! It is the small nuances that make a great angler. In my small pond at home I've 2 koi and two Rudd, it'd be easy to catch the koi as they'll eat anything, the rudd are a different matter! Personally when 2lb roach are being "hauled" there is huge amount more skill needed than a load of fat carp!!

Group hug every one [emoji12]

If it was just "bants" then how was there rough treatment ?

Don't be too hard on yourself CM it was a Micky take , no more , the lad will get over it , indeed he probably already has , and will be back stronger than ever .

He's only 21 he's been fishing for 5 years but he will want advice , we all do from time to time , as well as give it .

I look forward to his next thread .

how do you get the impression that we all buy ready mades?

and where the hell did you get the impression that we dont fish weedy bottoms?

i think if you learned to stop the bull images.poojpg_zps9qc3krnz.jpgand learned to read you may find quite a few posts on here related to getting around weedy bottoms, some posters actually specialize on this kind of fishing, so you could actually do yourself a favour and try asking questions instead of blagging it cos believe me you know naff all on the greater scheme of things.

no haters here bud only the bants you asked for

Might be fun to invite him to our Northamptonshire fish in, what do you say boys, i will gaurantee his safety even if i have to bring my Shepherd and order her to gaurd him, hee, hee, no but seriously the old boy has had some rough treatment, how about it.

now that is a brilliant idea, he could pick Tim up on the way thru  and i will need someone to show me how to build some rigs, and show me how to put the bait on, and teach me how to cast, and teach me how to haul, oh yeh and make me a nice cuppa to dip me custards in so they dont hurt my old gums
