3 Rods = 1 Licence

Can't see this working, I imagine if they brought in a 3 rod license, it would be the cost of currently buying two. Either way, the cost if a license now really isn't worth arguing over.

I did hear once upon a time, you were going to have to license all the rods you owned if you took them out in public, because they were classed as a lethal weapon. Don't think their was any truth on it,, but I bet one day you will need a license for a spod rod, I mean, if you have a lisence, why should it matterhow many rods you use? Guess that would apply to sea fishing too!

There is a long thread from the Past on Licences:

https://forum.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=32560

I would much rather pay either for individual licences or have a rod licence that covers 3 rods, but I don't think that match anglers will care to be charged for 3 rods, when they will only fish with 1.

The 2 rod licence was a best choice scenario because of that, specialists using 2, 3 or 4 dependant on water rules, and match anglers only using 1 rod, so if you used more than 2 having to buy a 2nd rod licence

It is not until that you get to specimen angling that anglers use more than 1 rod in most cases to be fair. I know a lot of 'day' anglers stick out a 2nd rod, just in case or for a carp, tench or pike etc while watching a float on the 1st rod, but many do stick to 1 rod.

I honestly reckon though that if you insisted on individual licences per rod, the cost of fishing would go up per year, and a 3 rod licence would put a licence at a higher price than it is now.

£54 for two tickets doesn't sound a lot I agree, however if you are on a budget and lets be honest most of us are these days especially if your not working. I know for a fact I have to make every penny count and if there is anything I need I have to save for it or ask for it as a birthday or Christmas present. so spare a thought for those that are not so well off

Should they drop the price to say £40 for 3 rods I of course will be happy .

But £27 a year , 50p a week to alow you fish any free water in the country has to be a bargin , walking is about the only thing you could do cheaper .

At the moment its £27 for two rods that's £13.50 per rod so why cant an additional 3rd rod ticket be £13.50 Makes sense to me. I'm not complaining about the price of a two rod ticket per se, my point is that times are hard for a lot of people. I know a lot of anglers who are family men that are struggling to make ends meet and at the end of the day its not the cheapest hobby in the world. Yes walking is cheaper but if you want to do that properly you still have to buy all the gear.

I think most carp anglers fish 3 rods but have to pay for four rods I think it should be pro rata as said earlier buy a std 2 rod ticket once that is purchased then you could buy additional tickets for each rod

What about the millions of match and pleasure fisherman who only use one rod?

Why should they have to pay for two rods regardless, but then carp anglers have preferential treatment by then being able to buy licences in single rod increments?

It should either change so that you have to pay per rod. Or it shouldn't change IMHO.

yes your right dale but as nick said earlier EA are not likely to do single tickets so as you say it stays as it is, but single tickets would be good.

Single rod licences is definitely the way to go, although as Nick and you have said Pete, I doubt it would happen.

I would imagine the EA would fear losing too much money as they haven't got the manpower to police the people buying a single rod licence and then using more than one.

P.S. It's Dal, no E

Sorry Dal I looked at it to quickly and these eyes aint what they was. I totally agree with everything you say. it comes down to money and policing licences. But saying that ive only been checked once in the last 3 years so the policing isn't working now but I think we are all aware of that issue.
