Just browsing and saw this ?....can't be right ?... 2+1 £65...3+1 £50

I’ve never used em but they’ve been around for a few years so I reckon they’d do a good job for somebody that hasn’t got bundles .

I’ve had loads of JRC stuff over the years and none of it has ever let me down .

Cant see these being any different.

I wouldn’t be suspicious of the price .

I bought some Jaffa Cakes at the weekend  and a pkt of 30 was cheaper than a 10 pack 😉

Jaffa Cakes, yum!

I get my local co-op doing 10 or 2x 10 packs for £1, at which point...

I had a JRC Roamer Dome which I used on Ardleigh. Good bivvy, took some serious abuse with the way a wind can rip down a reservoir. Eventually after a couple of years the laminated poles delamination and split, but that is more likely down to being put away wet and the weather, so I'm not going to blame JRC.

I still have a JRC Flatbed bedchair, again lasted well, still in good condition, must be Nazeing age, so at least 8years old.

Only reason I got a new bedchair is because it's Solar...

Talking of Bite Alarms , one of my EOS X alarms has finally given up the ghost .

I think 5+ years with the same battery in has finally taken its toll and it’s kaput !

As some of you may recall I was smarting the other week when I purchased a brand new ATTX v2 receiver and dongles .

The description of the goods did describe them as 3.5mm dongles but the photo had them labelled up as 2.5mm which was what I needed obviously with Fox alarms .
Having emailed the seller to clear up the confusion they assured me that they WERE 2.5mm dongles so I purchased them .
Of COURSE they were the 3.5mm’s and after the tooing and froing of messages over the course of a couple of weeks the seller was adamant that it was my mistake and I was stuck with them . After trying 4 different types of adaptors I can’t get them to work SO if you take into consideration the cost of another alarm plus buying 3 new 2.5mm dongles I’ve decided to cut my losses and just buy a new set of alarms .

Ill leave it to you to guess which alarms I’ve gone for 😊.

I am seriously worried that dementia or similar is setting in though . Following the purchase of my new Fox Qr PowerPoint bank sticks I decided to invest in some stage stands and found a few on eBay ( second hand of course) going cheap.

I jumped in and bought them and , of course , on receipt I’ve discovered that although they are Fox Black label stands they are NOT compatible with the PowerPoint sticks .

Now I’m hopping mad but I can’t decide whether I’m mad at the sellers for not pointing that out in their descriptions or whether I’m angry at myself for not doing my due diligence first .

So along with my Dongle balls up I’m beginning to doubt myself .

And it’s cost me another long ‘un to get the suitable ones .

Im Soooooooo 😡

If you have copies of full emails, might be worth a 'goodwill' if you have a word with Trading Standards...

Wonder if the Att alarms would suit...

Ya know , my local tackle shop is very rarely open when I get the chance to go into Grays .
In principle I’m a firm believer in supporting your local tackle shop …

However …

The stuff they usually stock is of very little interest to me .

Its nearly all Korda Nash and RM , most of which I avoid like the plague and the stuff I am interested in is REALLY expensive .

And as for bait , jeez unless your a believer in the benefit of Mainline boilies then it’s a waste of time .

They don’t even sell Maggots ffs .
I just need to do a bit more homework before I shop online in the future.

I'm lucky, 3 out of my 4 locals know me by first name, and the 4th know me by Sky...

All are within 4miles.

While Birds won't play with prices, they might do an occasional special offer, Breakaway will match if possible. I use Markhams for bits and pieces, and sadly rarely use Viscount as they are not usually on my route.

Birds does have the best stock though, although Breakaway can often order it...

There's also an Angling Direct in town now, on Commercial Rd. I tend to use the local shops by preference too, since they're small local businesses.

I've had a busy couple of days,

Some bits from bank tackle, wide gapes, the tough nut lead clips they do, and they have some new longer kickers which I think will be perfect for the Ronnie, but a bit sad they wouldn't mix colours so I have 50 pink ones coming 😂

Went to the shop today after work

Krill active 16mm wafters (holiday hookbaits )

Sonik spreader block that doesn't fit my sonik net, (works with my old net luckily) but probably need a new net still sonik have saddened me today  😭

Size 4 Krank X

Hookable pellets and a couple of pole rigs for the kids to tangle up

I keep putting off respooling my reels, it seems like a real chore everytime I think about it 😂

I quite like it, use the drill to take off, then take my time to spool on....need to go to the lake and bed in....maybe tomorrow.

Saved a fortune on tickets and bait this year due to no fishing because of the baby. Decided to capitalize on that by upgrading the camera kit.

- Canon EOS RP (basically the least expensive professional full-frame camera available)

- Cannon RF 24-105 mm f4-7.1 (for family/holiday use (in an attempt to justify the price of all this to the Mrs))

- Sigma 50 mm f1.4 ART (the dogs danglies for the all important trophy shots which is the real reason for purchase 🤣)

It all arrived a couple of weeks ago and the shots it takes are awesome. The package as a whole is miles bigger than my old Canon EOS M set-up but worth it for the optical quality alone. Hopefully by this time next year I'll get to take a photo of a fish with it!
