davehoneybone
Hi all. Great forum, first time I've posted. Can anyone help me out with suggestions where to fish for carp in or around Melbourne? Lake Eppalock wasn't bad but somewhere closer to home would be useful. All the best Dave
dalthegooner
Hello mate and welcome. Sorry, I've got no tips for where to fish in Australia as I'm in England.
luked
hey Dave, welcome to the forum mate, i'm not in melbourne but there are some guys down there getting good results. the guys there tend to be a bit precious though (due to the local "attitude" to carp.) keep going though
stokecarper12
I would get your Polaroids and walking boots on and go and have a look a round the rivers ie the yarra it is true you have to keep info tight to you I have had waters wrecked by idiots finding out what you are fishing for. I,ll have a think about waters you could fish it all depends where you live in melbourne. Tight lines stokecarper12

davehoneybone
Many thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated. Had a feeling Vic folk were fairly quiet for obvious reasons but I'm sure I'll bump into a few if I stick at it. I'm in N Melbourne but can travel any where. Will give Cherry another go as got too much attention last time. All the best.

davehoneybone
Tried the Yarra at Wonga Park yesterday. Freelined spam then tried corn and worms. No luck but plenty of fish rolling. Will definitely go back again and explore further down stream. But earlier. By mid-afternoon it turns into teen-bogan central. geoffreylewisstart
Try Aura Vale Lake on the Emerald Road. Big carp but not easy to catch
