spod/marker rods

Recommended Posts

I have never done any spoding before but would like to get out on some lakes where i think i will have to, question is guys would my 3lb TC whychwood rods be good enough to use as spod/marker rods? or would i have to get more heavier ones, suitable reels are another problem would i have to buy big pit reels or would my normal bait runners suffice

Regards John

have you ever done any sea fishing? if so, your sea rods will do just find, thats what i use for my spodding.

if you dont have a sea rod. your 3lb rods will be fine for the marker float and will probably be okay for the spod as well, my dad uses a 3lb rod for spodding
