flashgordon1952
next year i hope to buy a small bait boat i dont want to pay more than £400 prefer less if possible. what does the forum advise. what ever one i buy it will be used a lot, probably as much as 4 times a week in the summer and once a week in winter. should i get with with a solar panel ? what i dont need is one that takes a lot of bait 1kg is more than enough. prefer new offcourse ! But it will get a lot of use . hopefully it wont be too heavy to carry as i probably have to put it in a trailor on my motorcycle. Yes a motorcycle not a car. I'm sure we all know by now, your opinion on baitboats which you seem intent to shout to the world whenever they are mentioned. Well it's getting very tiresome now. I have been fishing for carp for 30 years and I have to bow to your superior angling skills and knowledge. The way you talk for a 16/17 year old, it is more than obvious you are the next Terry Hearn in waiting (who by the way, admits to using baitboats in certain situations). If I am ever fortunate or unfortunate enough(depending on your view) to be fishing next to you and I'm using my boat responsibly, then please feel free to drop by and tell me the errors of my ways

Pete simmo simmons
The only advice I can give is If you buy one make sure you get one with an echo sounder, I have seen the Viper Icon in use my only concern was that the hopper release is on the same joystick as the speed and direction controls and can take a bit of getting used to, The guy I saw using it dumped two lots of bait 3 metres from his rods each time, It would be better to get one with a seperate hopper release via a switch on the top of the remote If possible. Oh and make sure it is 2ghz which means no crystals and less interferance. Some shops have a pool where you can try before you buy.Good luck. Im hoping to be on syndicate next year and it will be a handy tool for the lake concerned. Havent used it fishing yet, but had a bit play with it on a local lake the other day and am very happy with it. But your right simmonds the very first time i sent it out i opened the hopper door by mistake..... Something to get used to. Have to be honest though, where the FF1 is concerned I couldnt make out what I was looking at. Good for depth changes and stuff like that but i couldnt see the difference when going over weed beds and the like...... Dont know if its sensitivity setting just needs adjusting or what. mick28
I know it's a bit more than you wanna pay but I have just got the new BSA mini lakestar, brilliant bit of kit.2 hoppers which work individually, comes with built in sonar for either fish finding or looking over contours on the lake bed. They are £500 but are quicker, lighter, and better battery life than the viper I had.

roosterbooster
if i was looking for a reliable bait boat that holds 1kg of bait matey i would stretch a tad more and go for a viper icon all day long mate, you can pick up a mk3 for about 450 brand new or viset the auction sites,iv used a few boats and this out does all in price bracket, build quality is very very good and the customer support is second to none if u ever need it

dave75
I have a Waverunner MK2 with dual hoppers and hook release system, good little toy. 2 control sticks to do different jobs, 1 does your speed and direction and the other controls your hoppers and hook release. You can pick 1 up for about £550. Good luck looking, it took me ages to decide which one to go for.
