Guest Anonymous
Having had the V1 and dongles with Nevs a few years ago and hating them after a few months due to reliability issues I never thought I'd buy anything else by ATT............wrong! After telling Tom at the company about my issues I was gobsmacked when he pretty much agreed and offered me a Version 2 with dongles for a stupidly low price. This was better, Tom had taken everything that was wrong with the V1 and sorted it, giving you better reliability and an almost replicated bleep on the receiver. But was I happy? Nope, I still suffered from a problem in my head about whether the dongles were working after a night out on the pond, so I took the plunge, sold the dongles and got a nice little deal (£55 each) on the new Atts alarm. I wasn't sure about these when they came out, sure they were small and possibly the nicest looking alarm you could sit your rods on, but looks aren't everything..........eh Del Romang? Anyway, I've used them for a while now and they've not skipped a beat, and yes, because Tom said they work underwater I've tried it and yep...........they do, not that I'd ever fish with them like that but it sort of proves that rain's not going to cause problems. The only downside is that they lack speakers, if your remote goes belly up so do your alarms. A massive upside and one that's rare in carp angling today, the customer service (warranty or not) from Tom and the lads is second to none, they bend over backwards for their customers. jemsue5
Glad you like them but the issue with the reciever going tits up is the reason i wont buy them. I dont care how reliable they say they are i've read enough about people having problems with them to put me off, that and the amount of sets i see for sale second hand makes me wonder. Now i use nice and simple Fox mx alarms and a cheap set of the sundridge alarms never had a problem with them but if one dies at least i dont lose all my alarms. Guest Anonymous
Thing is that it's not the receiver that's been the problem, I've not had the V1 or V2 go wrong and that's since they came out. It's always been the dongles that have caused the problems for me, the receiver's been bullet proof.
jemsue5
Hope it stays that way.
Guest Anonymous
Time will tell Jez, if they let me down they'll go in the same bin as my AVA predator alarms did You mention Fox, I'm a bit like that with their stuff, I won't buy anything (terminal bits apart) from them as I find the quality and aftersales to be poor, although hopefully with Cottis gone it'll improve. the last time I had a piece of Fox gear fail on me (it was actually about seven deadbait pencil floats on the trot), Fox didn't give a toss and showed no interest in what was obviously a fault in the eye fixing, they lost my custom from that day. Companies like ATT, Angling Intelligence etc however, really push the boat out to please.
jemsue5
Have to agree that the Fox terminal gear is spot on and i use very little else now. Their alarms have never failed on me and i know mates that have used the original mini microns for 15 years with no problems whatsoever. However the plastic item they make such as marker floats are total rubbish though and like their bait droppers have inherrent design faults. Guest Anonymous
The original mini microns were pretty much up there with Nevs and Parsons for reliability, superb and if I'm right they were 20 quid! The problem with Fox was always Cottis, he tested products on the punter without any trials.
crafty_carper94
Yep same with me, i had the v1 with my nevs. i had a pick up in the night and did not know anything about it till i woke up, the alarms had cork in them to make them quite so i did not hear a thing. the dongles on them all came apart and the wires in them were pants, also the receiver broke on me and i had to stuff cork in there to keep it going. sold them and brought a set of txi's. best thing i ever did! Guest Anonymous
Eh........so all the wires in the dongles came apart and the receiver fell apart? Did you beat them with a baseball bat? I've heard of plenty of V1's going wrong but never actually falling apart. Did you speak to Tom about this as he'd have seen you alright if it wasn't down to abuse by you? dale_carp
HH has a point, how does the dongle fall apart if it isnt been touched, secondly, the reciever on them can take a rite beating! Somebody i fish with has them and i have seen him run for his rods and the reciever drops out of his pocket and bounce along the bank! You must have well and truly abused it. Guest makka
I've hadd the ATT's for a couple of years and I've never had any problems with them and I don't think I'd swap them for anything else. My son is looking at the ATT backs for his Nev's so he can use the remote . Has anybody had any experience with them?

slimysime
My atts are two year old and apart from the batteries going after a year they hav'nt missed a single beat, ive had delkims fox and i know what ill be staying with, if they ever went wrong and i could'nt replace them or fix them i'd be gutted, in my opinion the best alarm on the market today, and it's british made

Guest Anonymous
Loads of new features but the only ones I've noted are improved range, better battery life and it's waterproof.
