paddyray
the other day friday in fact i went fishing for pike with my brother to a local loch we fished all day with deadbaits and i had cought 6 jacks these varied from about 3lb to about 7lb then just as it was getting dark i had a run that just kept on going so i struck it and the rod went crazy this was a biggie it took 15 minutes to land and was about 16lb weight anyway i had my fingers in its gills as you do i had taken the hooks out [i use barbless hooks ] i lifted the fish up to get hold of its tail the fingers of my left hand were still holding it by the gills as i lifted it up it twisted its head and clamped down on my thumb that was sticking out as my fingers were in its gills [very painful ]so lying the fish down on the mat i tried to force its mouth open with my right hand whitch i did but pikes teeth face back and as one of the big teeth had gone through my thumb nail i was having trouble getting my left hand extracted thereason for this was my fingers in its gill were also hanked up inside the pike not to miss an oppertunity clamped down again it now had both thumbs in its mouth and thair was nothing i could do except bear the pain and force its mouth open with my thumbs both hands covered in blood by tis time =mine not the pikes anyway i got myself extracted from the pike and let it go [i think it was laughing]the problem now was blood it was everywhair and wouldent stop bleeding had hankis wrapped round my hands and everything when i got home my doughter dressed it today 2 days later my thumbs are twice the size they should be had to go to doctors give me an injection and some antibiotics now ive handled hundreds of pike no problem but this one was extra aggressive =SCORE PIKE 1 FISHERMAN 0 PADDYRAY

138cgj
Thought so. Shes very clever that mother nature lady, she certainly does a good job. Definately makes sure that things work properly and efficiently. You have to take your hat off to her really. Whilst we are on with Pike, i too have been cut by the teeth. Its amazing how sharp they really are. I didnt even feel it at the time, thats how neat the cut was The ultimate in efficiency and sheer machine like killing power and design has to be the White Shark though Literally a never ending 'Conveyor belt' of razor sharp serrated teeth that are constantly being made and pushed to the front of the mouth........Deadly!, Admirable but Deadly!
