  1. Jrc. Cant go wrong excellent quality. My mates had his getting in 10yrs,apart from a bit weather beaten, its still in perfect working order.
  2. 1st overnighter with my 5 year old son. His new pb is 9 1/2lb common, 8 lb mirror & 10lb kitten. Which i hasten to add, i only caught at his specific request. Great day & nights fishing @ hunters lodge. Thanks to the owner allowing kids to have a go. Had to bring the rods in at midnight to get some sleep. HAPPY DAYS!!
  3. Antil tangle sleeves are like tail rubbers & will go over the swivel from hookilnk at lead/ clip to mainline or leader. Personally i dont use shrink tube. The rigmarole fluro to swivel i use 3 turn blood knot or loop knot. Then the anti tangle pushed up over the knot, if it moves push it over the eye of the swivel. It shouldnt make any difference on lead arrangement. A few more edges. Pull everything down with pulling tool, chod pen & i only started last year sharpening the hookpoint & ensuring its sharp every time it goes out
  4. I dont tend to push the bait onto the swivel this allows more movement. I also use an anti tangle sleeve from the lead or clip just for peace of mind that the trap is set!! Goid luck fella
  5. The size of pop up will depend on the bottom bait. I cut off 1/4 of bottom bait with a craft knife. The same with the pop up. Check how it sits in a bucket or the margins, you can trim down the pop up accordingly, u want it to sink slowly, i waft my hand in the bucket & check how it moves. You'll know when its sitting nicely.
  6. I use stiff rigmarole fluro, size 6 krank, 3 turn blood knot allows a bit of movement in the hook, micro swivel held with rigmarole hook stop, floss to attach bottom, snowman or wafter. Excellent hookholds, never lost a fish on this rig.
  7. I wish try 20 nights for my current ticket!!! Only went somewhere else as my lake was closed for spawning

Bought jrc 2 man sti twin skin 4 years ago. Erics angling £200. On good advice from a mate whos had his 3 years longer, his is still in good condition as is mine. Packed it away wet a couple of times, no problems as i found mould on others in the past. Excellent quality & value.. Im 6ft,got a wide bedchair. Loads of room. Highly reccomend it
  9. Unless I'm in a bag, I always put anti tangle sleeves at swivel end fella. always kicks the bait away from the lead
  10. I went to Farlows a few weeks ago, turns out they were still spawning so not really interested in feeding, but seemed a good venue, nice café & erics angling tackle shop. Can't go wrong for a bit of fun there. good luck
  11. Off topic slightly, Have been looking at fishing in Essex & keep being told about the Quarry, Cleverley Fisheries. they look to have a good few lakes & stocks look impressive. Anyone experienced the venue/s
  12. Love the KD style, I tie the hook this way on a combi rig as I think it gives an aggressive hook angle without the need for tubing. I use Korda Krank 4-8 dependant on pop up size. I agree with the above comment, but now always sharpen any hook I use. my preferred length of hair is between 10 & 20mm from hook dependant on bait size, I feel a bit of distance makes it harder for the fish to spit the hook once it realises the bait is on a rig.
  13. Luggage & odd terminal bits only. Probably get slated for this, but Korda u can't go wrong with for end tackle. Useful diagrams in case you're stuck with tying knots etc. As with everything in life you get what u pay for, but don't pay over the odds. It is expensive but better quality will last longer. NGT is ok for beginners, just upgrade when you can afford it. Happy carping fella
  14. Me too!!!! Need a green laser pen!!!
  15. I have big fingers & struggle tying some knots. With fluro, dependant on diameter, Thick 2 to 3 turn blood knot, Thin overhand loop (great for use with quick links especially at night when you're a bit weary!! As above, take care when bedding down, always use pulling/ chod tool to check everything is as it should be, Test to destruction!!!
  16. some of my buddies were doing a 48 on Pullens today, went there had a look around, mmmmm!!!!Looked a bit small for 4 of us One of them's had a 22 mirror. Looks a bit to commercial set up,Someone's making some serious dough!! North lake was empty so had a look around there, mental to think 'the pig' all 62lb of her was in there somewhere!!!! Wish i'd booked that lake now,
  17. manor farm last autumn, 22 & 17 on thursday, friday crew turned up ,spod spomb, lake went quiet till Sunday , would do mid week if i went again. Oxlease produces most of the bigger girls, fish down the sides to avoid getting cut off at the ends Hunts corner for a bit more privacy if you can get on there As i mentioned if i go there again i would start on mon/tues. Not everyones cup of tea, but at least they have what it says on the tin
  18. If you can't get onto any of the Thorpe pits, try & get on YAC, they bought alot of the Cemex waters around Farnham, which is not far away. i fished Pads last year ( laughed alot when i saw the notice to sack all ugly simo's & fish under 20lb!!!!!!. My mate had 2 30's & a 40 on the last morning. I believe they are a mix of lake rentals, syndicate & day tickets. There is Fannham waters in the same area as well. good luck
  19. Not too sure fella, never into carping when i lived near there. i know of bloke who does go on one of them, lives on or near it i think!!! But there a loads of pits round there, aren't there
  20. would you use bottom bait or pop up??
  21. I'm planning on fishing in about a foot of silt in the shallows. A friend says to use braid, i'm thinking a longer fluro hooklink? Not too sure how long though??
  22. I can understand the sentiment, but as Dal says most fish nowadays are farmed to ensure we catch good sized fish. I struggle to comprehend these fishereies that have 70lb+ cats that are known to eat anything & everything, including the specimens. The owners are going to stock the fish that get arses on the bank. I guess as long the angler walks away happy from a venue he will come back again & again.
  23. I fish a little syndicate near there, not been myself but have heard that the owner can be, what shall we say a bit awkward!! But there are some beauties in there from what i've heard & seen on there web site. i went to orchard farm after trying to get on Elphicks, nice enough place, but looked as though he'd dug his lakes in such a way as to get as many anglers on each one, not so much of a cast out, more underarm flick!! Be lucky
