  1. custom reels uk, lee valley customs, south custom reels all may be able to fit a spring loaded line clip on the spool.
  2. Yes the thread did help out a bit but mine is the old rx 2000 and most things mentioned are new tech. Potentially the wifi on my phone caused it as I forgot to turn it off!! No wonder my battery went fast as well. My bad. Could be why it's never happened before as well as I always have it off. Cheers guys.
  3. Cheers guys, Steve I'm not there, I'm up oundle way. However I'm fishing Grendon with a couple of mates next weekend. Wonder if it'll kick off then? I would conclude it's my phone charging but it does it when it isn't charging so can't be that. Maybe a cleaner air quality allows the signals from something to travel better and it's picking up my receiver I don't know. I'll change batteries and see if that makes a difference. Only ever time it has happened to me, although I normally keep it on local because I hate waking up for the little bleeps caused by wind, etc on bigger pits. More intimate places like this I've had to put it on high as a bleep is hard to come by!
  4. I've had the two little droopy noises to indicate interference on the radio channel but I've just had a load of static through and it scares the life out of me. This is all on local channel as well so clearly someone with a strong radio signal is nearby. Never happened on this lake before. Wondering if anyone has any tips to get it to shut up, apart from turning it off of course!! I can't have that static wake me up in the night. I'll have a heart attack!
  5. looks suspect to me. Either he is genuine and strapped for cash or its stolen.
  6. I managed to pick up a gardner deluxe boilie gun and rolling table for £3. never used either.
  7. I have one of these http://www.military1st.co.uk/10615021-mil-tec-ecwcs-jacket-with-fleece-flecktarn.html Cracking bit of kit, warm, waterproof, detachable fleece for when you only need the outer layer in the warmer months.
  8. I've just got my hand son the atomic chod wyre, very good line and strong too. Not too wirey and can be worked with.
  9. I use this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/500M-30LB-0-26mm-Dyneema-Fishing-Line-PE-Braided-Four-Strands-Various-Optional-/141322795741?var=&hash=item20e77ebadd:m:m6sDnW2_uRu8_mDfVosH0lw straight through with a large spomb tied directly on to the end. Only crack off i've had was when the swivel in the spomb snapped on me. No trouble with wind knots, bad frap or anything, I just splash my spool with water if im baiting up heavy or at long range.
  10. Give it a try mate. Soak the braid first for a day as its when it's properly wet the dye lifts.
  11. one thing I will warn you about is the dye running. I had my hands bright orange the first few uses, try to run the line through a towel the first few times! but a small price to pay for the lower priced, just as good braid
  12. I use this stuff, can go up a breaking strain if you want http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/500M-30LB-0-26mm-Dyneema-Fishing-Line-PE-Braided-Four-Strands-Various-Optional-/141322795741?var=&hash=item20e77ebadd:m:m6sDnW2_uRu8_mDfVosH0lw
  13. I managed to pick up one similar to this at a car boot sale the other weekend. £4 with all the nozzles and a 14mm rolling table. bargain. Making pop-ups will never be easier this winter
  14. if its for when you are fishing on wooden platforms then stage stands? Pods I would look at the new solar P1 or the cygnet pods
  15. Cheers for the info. Will look to take a take a bit of kit with me. I'm going to be up there over winter too. Do you know if it has any winter form at all?
  16. going to drag up an old thread, whats the fishing like on here now? I'm up this way a fair bit with work for a while and wondered if it was worth me taking some rods and having a few hours in the evenings
  17. The atomic one is like yonny says. It's good and I still use mine but the pouch is frayed and the Velcro part of the pouch ripped off, but then I prefer it without as I can get s tighter grouping.
  18. Will defo be watching out for reviews on these. If they are that good then I'll give them a try. Especially in barbless

    July Catches

I dont mind being taken advantage of from time to time I'll be picking up a ticket next year so will have to see how the bait i'm on fairs in there
  20. cheers mate. I have resigned myself to the fact I wont be fishing as much for a year or so anyway.
  21. DJS is Deeping St James angling club Steve. Got a good stretch of the Nene up that way. I've not fished at all up Peterborough way. And only done one session on the Nene this year. 1 bream and a PB chub. Got a baby due TODAY so limited fishing. I plan to visit Peterborough at some point this summer to fish for the carp. I know an area where there is ALWAYS more than a few fish. Hard not to notice them on a blazing hot day. Some stonking bream there too.
  22. not got a clue on this one unfortunately. Any time I spent up that way is based around the city centre and Nene Park Trust area. However I did stumble across this on another forum recently http://www.carpforum.co.uk/Shared/Messages.asp?TopicID=347953
  23. try and make sure you have a puncture proof tyre. I once had to walk a mile with a barrow full of kit with a flat tyre. Luckily I carried a pump with me for such occasions. took me three re-inflations to get back to the van!
  24. I use this stuff. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-500M-30LB-0-26mm-Fishing-Line-Strong-PE-Braided-4-Strands-Durable-B6X2-/231874404440?var=&hash=item35fccaa058:m:mgGiTNCpO-fXCm01cy1sLqQ Never had it snap on me. The dye does come out so be careful. I ended up with bright orange fingers!!
  25. I used to have a browning carp feeder rod, was very nice to play fish on, not sure if they still do them though.
