  1. Hi

I am trying to get a solar panel for my bait boat (lake reaper).  The manufacturers don't sell one but I have looked at the foldable one for a procat (??) at £150.

I can buy 2 x 10w/12v panels from ebay at £40 in total and hinge them together (a couple of quid from B&Q).

What I need is some views/assistance on the how to "chain" them together electrically....... does 2x10w = a 20w charge and 24v?? How do I solder them etc

    Any help greatly appreciated!!

  2. Yeah, Ive got some larger batteries that run the boat itself. The AA's are used for the remote controller, fish finder base unit and the fish finder itself. Was looking at Argos and 4 (I think) was 15 quid. I've send 8 on the bay for 3 and a half, so was going to chance it with the cheap ones. No more expensive than buying Duracells.

  3. I fished grimshaws with cell and scored 6 on my first go. fished there again and only caught a couple. Moved onto redhouse lake and caught nowt on two trips but I understand thats the norm and the weather has been poor.

However, I really like the place and am staying on to hopefully get the premium ticket in a couple of seasons.

  4. Hi

Just had a look through some Chod posts and I'm looking for the best knot to use to tie my swivel to my stiff filament. I use either Korda, Fox or ESP line, around 15 or 20 lb. I am a fan of the 4 turn-grinner but struggle to get it working on either rig (and look tidy).

    Any suggestions?

  5. Hi

Trying to think of a rig set up for an adjustable zig rig.

I have a narrated diagram but can't seem to attach it (any instructions)?

It revolves around a back to back 5 turn uni-knot and some low diameter shrink tube to hold the knots in place during the cast, mushroomed knot ends to stop the knots slipping/un-raveling.

It is intended to allow you to use the same rig again and again and vary the depth by twice the single line length.

Would require a good pop-up to hold the weight or could add bouyant corn (or similar). I am thinking quite wide diameter line to aide tying and adjusting the length up or down.

Maybe some rig/shrink tube to hold the double line section together.

    Any suggestions comments??
