ianfrog got a reaction from B.C. in Rib elastic replacement.
Funny as my Aqua bivvy broke an elastic soon after I bought it !
When I phoned them they said they would keep my details and get in touch when the relevant person got back from holiday!
Well 2 years on and I have given up on that one and the bivvy still works fine.
Elastic would have been nice but customer service on something so expensive would have been ideal!
    Cheers

Please forgive the cynicism but if they are aware of it they should have been all over it before we the great unwashed had even noticed, its their logo after all.

Fantastic bits of kit wouldn't be without it and can personally say the two biggest carp I have ever caught in the UK were because the pole got me into the exact spot with a little bit of free samples and rig with little or no disturbance !

I don't think you will ever break any records there but it is a truly beautiful place !
By the way my first 20lb pike and some great still water chub were resident in my day !

Unfortunately I moved away from that area long ago (1987 to be precise) Weirwood wasn't open to us scruffy coarse fishing types back then.
Pipinford is on the main road from East Grinstead going towards the coast, look for the sign for Chelwood Vachery on the right and pull into the layby on the left (all information given liable to be out of date !) 6 or 7 lakes at the bottom of a valley try looking it up on the web !
Absolutely cracking place and the first place I ever shared with a red deer coming down for a drink, also squaddies with thunder flashes in the middle of the night lol.
If you find it and go down let me know what you think.

I fish naked chods a lot and this year im using nash dcam sinks well and not had any issues so far and last year i used wychwood dpf purple line and that sunk well too but started twisting up towards end of season and both are near invisible on the bottom, I think any line that sinks well will do the job but you want the confidence that your line cant be seen. Personally i wouldnt buy flourocarbon because of the price but if thats not an issue for you id go with that.

Also i cant recommend the avid chod beads enough for naked chods, they hold on the line well and im certain you get better bite indication because the beads are tight on the line and when the fish gets hooked the line moves first before the lead. Iv noticed when you get a run the bobbin will move up slightly almost like a bream bite and then will rip off because the carp doesn't know how to deal with it. I use as lighter a lead as i can get away with usually a 1oz and make sure the line is fished as slack as i can get it, im convinced the weight of the line sunk is plenty of weight enough to hook the carp. And having a heavy lead bouncing around near the carps mouth i dont want it using the weight of the lead to eject the hook.

Ironically I first met Peter at Anglers Paradise quite a few years ago ! We were introduced by Len Gurd  and as the drinks flowed some of the strokes pulled by those guys were seriously ott!

    Hi Vik
In all honesty the t.c doesn't appear to be as important as the action.
As you know I use the Free Spirit X.S which is a 3.25 t.c but they have a very through action which makes them a delight to play fish on and suit quite a wide range of waters.
I have tried some fast action 3 lb rods that felt like I could cast to the moon but would probably be more at home on a snooker table.
Its a difficult thing to find what suits you best but the only thing I do know is don't by anything you haven't felt.
    Cheers

I am with Yonny on this one which is why I ended up with the 3.25 t.c XS in 12ft.
4 years later and I still think I made the right choice fish of all sizes on them and since my day with Terry Edmondson I am comfortable up to 130 yards fishing and let's face it that's enough for most places.
    Give them a look.

Really pleased to be able to compliment Reuben Heaton on their service.
My digital scales wouldn't turn on when I changed battery so suspecting cheap battery terminal I contacted them.
I was advised a service would include fault finding for £28 , so last Tuesday I was in the area so I dropped them off.
Just answered door to postman who delivered scales, when opened job ticket says "scales not turning on replaced scales" so I have a brand new replacement set of scales at no extra charge.
    Thank you Reuben Heaton.

    Hi Jamie
    Sorry for delay !
I use the Aqua M and bought it after I had worn out my second Trakker Armo.
Apart from a hole in the front panel caused by a rat trying to get to my bait I cant fault the actual bivvy.
One of the tension elastics in the lowest support pole has snapped and when I contacted Aqua they said they were temporarily out of stock but I could have one when they were in again.
I confess I havent been back to them yet as so far it has caused me little inconvieniance.
Great carry bag loads of options how to use it, maybe a tad heavy, definately a barrow job and not one to carry miles!
Not cheap but overall I like it and would probably replace with the same if I had to.
    Cheers

As already mentioned with the onset of colder weather both species become less active but I think it would be fair to say if you get any indication at all the odds are it will be a carp.
In my experience your chances of getting a run out of a catfish after about October are similar to your likely hood of becoming pregnant lol.

    Don't do it mate!
Any product that advertises itself as "a stripped out ultra light special forces edition" is for children or idiots.
Honestly fella, I don't rate Nash rods one bit. For that money you can get something from a company that actually builds rods rather than gets them made in China.
Nash rods, IMO, are average rods sold at premium prices. There are miles better options out there for the same money.
