  1. No not got a bag on at all - not half as much as the other anglers I spoke to anyway. I tried the margins too, but as I said above there was not even a sign of a fish anywhere in the lake. It's not as if it was just me; we were told not to bother by a local and the fella from Tamworth Fishing Tackle. Suppose it's our own fault for not listening. For the record I don't like shooting fish in a barrel - but I like to at least feel like there are fish in the barrel.
  2. Well, I spent 7 hours on Pine Pool today and all I can say is what a complete waste of time. The lake is absolutely thick with weed, meaning bottom fishing is pretty much out of the question. There were 6 other people fishing, none of whom even had so much as a knock. Four of them had enough and went home before 1pm, the others leaving shortly after. I didn't see even a sign of a fish all day.
  3. I'm going to be fishing the same pool Saturday so if anyone can offer any help whatsoever it would be greatly appreciated, as I've heard it's not fishing well at all at the moment. Are any of the other lakes worth bothering with? Do they even have any fish left in them after the flooding?!
  4. Thanks mate - so long as we know it's worth taking the gear
  5. Thanks for the reply mate. Sounds like a lot of hassle for a day's fishing Do you have any idea of the cost? Also who do we need to contact? Is it going to be difficult because we don't speak Portuguese?
  6. We're off to Portugal on a family holiday in less than 3 weeks, and me and my Dad fancy having at least one day out carping. Can anyone fill me on on what we need to do? I've heard we may need special licences, if so how are these obtained? Any information at all would be appreciated as I'm clueless at the moment.
  7. Thanks guys. Avoca at Cudmore looks promising. you've picked one of the best places for the noddy's but more importantly the carpers guaranteed day session catch places Does this mean we can look forward to catching if we can put up with the numpties that fish there?
  8. Hello all. I'm new to the forum so please bear with me. My brother is travelling up on the 28th for a day's fishing with me and our Dad. We're all into carping but haven't fished now for 3-4 years. We're looking for somewhere with some decent carp present, ideally in the doubles (and upwards), to get us back into the swing of things. Without sounding fickle - I feel like all three of us need a guaranteed catch to prevent us going another 3-4 years without a rod in hand We live just outside Manchester but don't mind travelling anything up to an hour for a good day's fishing. Any help appreciated.
