  1. Well i better learn the art of text talk then, if some words are ok but not others. Yep i'm being picky, cuz i no iv got pemisson to write cack, cuz its still readable.
  2. I just noticed carpcatcher..that it was you who started the thread about text talk on non carp banter. la de da
  3. The 2 truest things iv heard today It does not bode well when even the moderators start using text talk does it Come on guys how much text talk do we have to have in one thread? This is a local thread for local people and we will talks like we wanna - right! Like the reply Kev But i wouldnt class Charny or 2 (as in the number 2) as text talk I suppose the word "iv" is ok as well is it. as is the word "no" instead of know. Oh and reading through the posts the words "mo" and "coz" seem to have been used. I guess these words are not classed as text talk either! I am not suggesting that you used all of these words 666carpcatcher but they are used in this thread. a thread in which you are taking part. so therefore you might be expected to moderate on it. But i guess you are right, because it's a local discussion then it's alright.

  5. Er yes! Again its no longer advertised. Same situation as West Stow and Homersfield, knowing the right people The guy who runs the West Stow "syndi" is also something to do with Nunnery Robbie, You cheeky git The moustache didn't come until the 80's Originally grown thinking it would get me served at the age of 16 Got a unmoustached pic from around 1988or9 somewhere Possibly not for public display Unless you want to scare the kids I'm sure everyone would love to see your photo's Nick, and i know that not a single person would extract the michael.
  6. Homersfield is Dead mans shoes or knowing the right people, and absolutely no publicity. Henham Estate lake, the Dairy Ponds (day ticket)? or the other lake on the complex thats next to the house? Very closed syndicate. You are more knowledgable than that John Wilson bloke..you should write a book... I never learn Nick last time i made fun of you, you stitched me up, but hey i can't help it. I wish I was as knowledgable as John Wilson or had his results I've got a few copies of his book so I can refer back to them, and have friends in a few syndicates so I can keep in touch. I tried to get into the Henham syndicate a couple of years ago when I was working on the house doing some plastering with a mate. Shame the job finished before we could get a bit more out of it Mate, I don't mind, I take it in the spirit its intended, although every now and again I make fun of people as well. As for writing a book, someone made that suggestion a few years ago, the thread may still be around Maybe there's an idea for a new thread. Suggestions on a postcard as to what might be the subject of "Nicks new book" maybe strange looking moustaches from the 1970's might be a good start...or "How not to moderate a forum"

  8. Do you have any idea how much yearly membership of layfields is.
  9. Can't help with your questions i' afraid as i live in Norfolk. To be honest i am not sure i would want to go and fish any lake where the carp are in a poor state. I would definately have to look for somewhere else to fish
  10. Thanks for this Nick. It does not say what size the stock fish they introduced were, and i do wonder if they are simply guessing about the originals that escaped the netting, but as you said i would have thought they might be difficult to net anyway. Once we can get some idea of the size of the stock, it might be worth arranging a social down there. From memory if they are talking about Days Lake then there were only 7 Carp in the Lake anyway, until a couple of the 30's died. There is a massive Gravel Bar that goes across the Lake that probably didn't help with any nettingof the venue. I did just try to visit the website to see what has happened about the other Lakes on the complex, but at the moment either my PC is playing Silly or the Interweb is playing up, "Cannot Find Server" Did you pay your broadband bill? So i guess what they are saying is that all the originals escaped the netting process...all 7 of them (it does say up to 12 originals..something fishy perhaps!) I just managed to get the website up and venue, and your'e quite right it is days lake they have opened.

  12. I am fairly sure they haven't. there are three lakes down the road beside the chipshop. they are collectively known as the common or charity lakes, because the profit made from sales of tickets goes toward helping the elderly in lenwade toward the cost of heating etc. There is also a lake down beside the old chapel on the main road..not sure what it's called now, but its now a syndicate lake. about £300 a year i think, with a head of around 30 decent fish. and then of course you have the old railway lakes which used to be run by london anglers. my information suggests it is one of these lakes that has lost lots of fish to the virus.
  13. It is only on the newly stocked lake. i think it's the one that belongs to taswood in lenwade. there is no problem with the bridge lake directly behind the pub either
  14. It seems that text talk is becoming the norm on here now. I wouldn't even bother answering a post when the person writing can't be bothered to use the English language It was a year ago that the post was made Well he can consider himself told off for his mistake a year ago Perhaps i will read the date on the posts before i answer in future

  16. Now i have done a search.....honest i have I am now going to enter the world of using a marker float and have been told to put around a 20ft mono shockleader on the end of the braid. can anyone tell me what sort of knot i should be using to join the two together and what strength of leader do i need. The longest distance i am likely to be using the marker float is about sixty yards
