Ive had a few out of the Riddings this year on the handfull of occasions Ive fished it biggest so far 28lb 8oz Common cracking fish and I had another 20 yesterday the fish are there but it can be tricky I did actually have a smaller Carp than you andy at around 2lb but other than that one Ive had nothing under 15lb apart from the odd tench here and there. I used to be a member of lakeside but it wasnt my cup of tea Bivvy city and loads of singles and low doubles to keep you up all night

I went for a look around the canal by me in Fazeley the other day seemed a few nice spots towards Kingsbury let me know how you get on mate up by Hopwas as I might give it a crack aswell as Ive never fished the canal's for carp

Hi Barry welcome to the forum There is another post running the same as this which contains loads of venues for you mate. Try using the search facility and it will come up. On a side note I would recommend Kingsbury water park pine pool if your after a 20 its not far from you and has plenty to go at its not an easy lake but put the effort in and the rewards are definatly there also there is the specimen pool at the Riddings some lumps in there again not the easiest but the fish are definatly there. Place gets rammed and they have now marked swims out for the pegs only allowing you to fish within these guidelines I think you have to check the map seing where you can fish in your swim which is a shame but im sure they put this in place for a reason eg how busy it gets. The fish in my avatar is from cromwell 30lb 12oz loads of 30's in there and loads of 20's

Hi mate if your looking for waters around Tamworth and your thinking of trying Kingsbury go on either Pine Pool or Swan both pools contain decent fish although be warned there not the easiest to tackle but if you put the time in the rewards will come. There are also a few others as joe said Pretty Pigs is the lake I think your talking about in your post this is run by Birchmoor AC although Im pretty certain all the books have gone Shuttington Lake and Borrow Pit are run by the Lamb. Shuttington is a sindicate water I beleive but Borrowpit I think you can still fish on a day ticket it was £4 per rod when I fished it last a few years ago but you can only night fish if your a member. The Riddings Very Commercial but contains some decent lumps £12 per day for 3 rods no night fishing but fishery opens at 6am and closes around 10pm during the summer and its dawn till dusk in the winter. Cuttle Mill Again very very commercial lots of fish but you have to fish in between set markers within your swim and the pool gets rammed if you get a run and you dont hold it theres a very good chance you will wipe out the guy in the next swim and maybe even the next one to him This place is definatly not for me but I know some people who like the place. Hope this helps a little mate there are a few more scattered around if you are willing to travel for around 30 minutes to get there Tight Lines Nick

A little bit more I should of added is that the park opens at different times depending on the time of the year if you give them a ring on 01827 872660 they will tell you what time they are opening at the minute also Pine pool has no close season so you can fish it all year

Hehe it is a bit confusing with the amount of lakes on there Pine pool is by far the best lake on there in my oppinion all you have to do is enter the park via the main entrance (Its the one with the big boards outside) go to the little hut on the left hand side inside there is a machine its 4 quid to fish Pine so thats how much you put in press the button and thats it you get a ticket pay to get your car in which is 2.50 then you need to drive around to the right follow the road al the way down and you will come to causeway pool turn right you will have a large lake to your left hand side this is swan pool continue down the road and you will come to 2 small car parks this is pine pool only things that are banned on there are barbed hooks I think its min 10lb breaking strain line and no uncooked seed or nut baits as for the specimen waters on the park I spoke to a number of members last year I was informed that 90% of them requested a refund on there tickets as after the numerous floodings of the park last year most of the fish had escaped into the canal. Hi mate the carp pool at Kingsbury is Pine Pool theres a big stock of carp in there never seen anything under 16lb come out and ive heard a few rumours of the odd 30 gracing the bank last year. The water is gin clear on pine go for a walk around on a sunny day and you will see the fish moving all over the pool. Swan pool is also now fishable well it was last time I went down after they cleared the weed out. The warden told me that a couple of lads had fished it the week after clearing the weed and they had 6 fish upto 18lb in a short day session. Hope this helps mate I cant say that it is definatly pine pool that Dave Lane fished as I havent personaly seen the article if you decide to give it a go dont be put off by the amount of weed on the bottom get your setup right and you will catch saying this its not an easy water by any meens. You can get your ticket from Birchmoor Working mens Club it runs 1st of jan to 31st of december tho so not got much time left this year

Yeah it wasnt our cup of tea thats why we left in the morning by then we were very bored and couldnt bring ourselves to do it for the whole day aswell

Well what can I say other than the carp in there are mad for it mate no matter what bait you use your guaranteed to catch between 2 of us we had over 100 carp during the night but there all small biggest we had was 9 pound the fish in there are starving fish that would be at least a double in other water's only weigh in around 5-6 pound there really long and lean fish. Pineapple was correct about them coming really close in I was throwing bread and dog biscuits in literally 5 inches from my peg and they were fighting to get at it if you fancy a bit of sport its definatly worth a go I was supposed to fish the night and the whole of saturday by 9 o'clock in the morning I was ready to go home Like Pineapple said dont take a bedchair with you if you night fish it I didnt even get 5 mins kip all night
