As Nige says use a PVA bag or a stick mix or put some foam on the hook to allow it to slowly fall into place, If you put enough free offerings around the hook link the fish will soon clear the weed to get to the bait.

It is not a new thread, but is this any help?

Well I had such a great time there this year I have booked to go again, this time I am fishing Yew Tree which has some fantastic carp and cats to 60lb.
July next year should be a bit warmer than my last trip in May and I know how to fish this lake as I spent most of my time watching fish being caught
here whilst my rods were fish less for most of the week.
I'm taking young Adam with me for company as my other half will be tucked up in the caravan most evenings, And he is always good for a laugh (casting into the trees ) I know its early to be talking about it but it is a great venue and I'm already excited and making plans to organize some kit that was missing from my last visit. Anyone else fished it around July time? any updates would be good.

Have a look at Waveney Valleys Web site you have the best of both worlds there great place with some fantastic fish.

I was going to go down the livebait road again for the cats but i dont think i can be bothered with the time spent catching the lives so i will also be using the pellets. Have a look at the dynamite baits new 30mm cat pellets the bloodied eel absolutely reek.
I used those when I fished Waveney Valley they worked well and they stain your hands and boy yes they do stink

Have you done a night there yet?
No you have to join £150 but I dont think my bivy will fit on the swims

Hi guys, any members of this lake on here or has anyone fished it?
Its entrance is off the main road just before the golf club entrance.
Rustington just outside Worthing on the south coast.
Have been there twice now caught both times some decent fish in it but not many people know about it so doesnt get very busy
Is it a water where you have to fish your way through the smaller stuff to get to the big ones?
No dont think so, fished it Wednesday had 8 runs landed 5 fish up to 14lbs saw some bigger ones on top.
No they dont allow surface fishing due the wildlife there, but I did try a Zig but no luck will try next time Im there and they come on top.

Take care mate and enjoy it,
-
Hope it all works out for you, good luck.

Cheaper still is to get some clear plastic re sealable plastick bags or envelopes and coil them up inside.
You can then use a black marker pen to write on them, length, breaking strain and hook size etc.
-
No worries I believe its up for sale also, a very nice fishery
-
try fox pool, I fished with some guys recently who highly reccomend it,
great fish great hosts.

Fantastic mate well done,

Hi, just got back from Waveney valley and all I can say is that this venue is a great place to catch a twenty with the added bonus of catfish up to 50.
Yew tree lake is probly your best chance of catching with Marsh lake running a close second, take a look at there web site you wont be dissapointed.

Nice one I'm glad you had a good session there. Ill hopefully get another session in there again soon.
I would defo give yew tree a go, some great fish in there, good luck when you do go.
