  1. Do a search there was a thread on here not so long ago about it , dont remember to much positive feedback
  2. Isnt it around £1100 now it may have some big fish but the fact that you have families wandering around , row boats , concerts and firework displays would stop me paying that kind of money
  3. Then i feel feel that you should go with the 18lb line ,it will give you a bit more chance in playing one of the biggies as your not used to it ,the only other thing is get your clutch set right if anything on the light side , you can always tighten it up during the fight , good luck.
  4. Can i ask whats your experiance of catching larger fish , high 20's / 30's
  5. Its something i tried after watching my normal braid rigs being picked up and spat out , i felt that the fish were very wary and feeling the rig changing to the mono resulted in 3 fish from 3 takes including a 28lb mirror , they worked on that day.
  6. If fishing where i can drop a rig in and see it i use long ( 20" ) mono rigs
  7. Hadn't used mono for ages till last September ,was stalking a small swim watching my rigs being picked up and put down ( very wary fish ) made some long mono rigs up , about 24" long picked up 3 fish including a new pb of 28.4 lb
  8. Which lake are you looking at ?
  9. This aint my specialist subject but ive done a few basicly you tie them as you would any basic hook lenth it just means you have to pull the whole lenth of the zig through the eye of the hook and then tie a quick link at the lenth you require ( for a fixed lenth one ) hope this helps
  10. Bilob , please don't take this the wrong way but it seems you might be trying to run before you can walk . Most tackle shops will sell braid rigs or stiff rigs and between them they probably result in catching 70% of all fish caught . Concentrate on the hook and bait presentation if this is wrong it wont matter how camouflaged your line is .
  11. Just ditch the tubing if your that botherde put a few bits of putty on the main line . Maybe its just me but if your concerned about presentation and spooking a fish with the rig tube then just do away with it
  12. I wonder is it the small lake that has been booked
  13. Mate , please give us a clue if you live in Cornwall i doubt if your grand parents will want to drive you to Scotland
  14. Lets hope he has a time machine , reply might be a bit late.
  15. Can't think of a van that seats 4 how about hiring a big box trailer ?
  16. Thinking of doing a few nights early November anyone fished it recently ? or any relevent info would be appreciated , thanks John.
  17. Found this place trawling the internet and was wondering if any of you lovely people have any info , not to bothered about bait or swims info, but does it get busy or is a dump and not worth the trek , thanks John.
  18. I would say quite simply push the hook , shank towards the point which will slightly extend the hole the hook has made and rotate the hook out keeping the pressure on as you remove the hook ,firm but gentle.
  19. Furnace lakes near Horsham 4 lakes to chose from carp into the 50's cats to 100lb + but it dose get busy good facilities but no food.
  20. Differs depending on bait , 10mm up to 50mm for a big piece of potato in theory you should be altering the length depending on circumstance

    Hooklink

Running rigs are one thing but i still don't get how lighter strenth hook links can help should your main line get snagged , there is no way any carp is going to break a 12/15 braid or 15lb main line

    Hooklink

in theory your hooklink should be the first to break as it is a lower BS than your mainline. This results in the fish trailing round a matter of inches of line rather than alot more, saving the fish a lot of distress. I have to say i can't think of a situation where i want anything to break nor why it would.

    Hooklink

Please excuse my ignorance on this one what is achieved by using lower breaking strain hook link material than your main line strength
  24. I would think at least a kilo per rod per day and if it fishes well you could well need a lot more ,as Bluebird says depends how it fishes
  25. I wonder how he got on , as he asked the question 2 years ago
