  1. I think he means the hooklink. Make sure you use a big ring swivel and put some tubing to cover the swivel (between the lead and the big ring), but making sure that the lead can obviously still run freely. And use 1-2 foot of tubing so the lead can run along.... ......as this MAY help
  2. or, just use boyant mag aligners
  3. i have about 15 rigs pre tied in my wallet. most of them are simpless knotless knot or with a line aligner (or liner liner as 'starbaits' once said, god i miss that kid). then after the i have about 3 combi rigs, 2 stiff fluro, couple of pop up rigs....... made one anti eject rig last night, but I always use a standard knotlees knot rig anyway. if it aint broke dont fix it
  4. i used to have it but can't find it now
  5. haha after re-reading the whole thread im still are you just glueing them on? or sewing them onto line and then adding the poly ball on the same line at the end?
  6. i'm with tony on this one. There's clearly something we've missed. sewing maggots ONTO a poly ball? Thats crazy talk.......
  7. after a quick glance in an old mag I think its called a leader knot. there are a fair few ways to do it mate just search 'combi-rig' in google and im sure you'll get a few lists. failing that just look in any carp mag new /old as i guarantee they cover it over and over and ooovvverrr again each month
  8. won't be changing my rigs at all. I use 2 different rigs, the difference being that one has a shot on it and the other doesn't. might scale down to 12lb mainline although i've been tempted to try out the 13lb kryston snide and just use it all year round. happy days.
  9. anyone fished here lately? im taking my mate there who has only just started carp fishin to break him in. we are going on the weekend 23rd November for a few nights....never been before anyone have any tips? baits? all info is appreciated.
  10. alright guys im also in leicester but im looking for lakes thats are far north west of leicester. As in a fair bit beyond Ashby-de-la-zouch (i know willesley lake is there). It needs to be a lake that allows night fishing........ Anyone know of anything?
  11. get a baiting needle at each end and pull it nice and straight. if you hold it for around 30 seconds it usually stays straight. but by the time its been pinned in your rig wallet for 24hrs it stays straight anyway
  12. get ur marker rod out and find a clear patch! days, weeks, months when you find it you'll be laughing, at least for a while also dont forget that they may only be collecting the weed AS ur reeling in!
  13. oh god thats genius! you only realise when you actually say it out loud!

fishery owners should take addresses along with names when on the lakeside, and try to closely monitor which peg everyone is in (lets face it, it wouldnt be that hard for most fisheries). if someone is caught or reported to have left a lot of litter then a 2 / 3 strike warning should be in place before full expulsion. I wonder how many of these litterers dont own a rod license either? I would put money on that there is a distinct relationship between the two. spot the litterers and we would all be better off! i keep the bankside much cleaner than my house, but that only because i enjoy driving my landlord crazy
  16. onyl just started getting into coated braid and im loving the stuff at the minute soooo many varieties. been havin hours of fun making rigs from kryston snakebite (its a lonely life) but from what i hear ESP stripteaze is damn good also. i really rate ESP tackle anyway so i think ill give it a go next. just out of interest.............how many times do most of you use ur hooklink before gettin rid of it? im sure there'll be people who never get rid of the hooklinks and some that throw them after every session. personally i try to keep my hooklinks for as long as possible, within conditional reason of course.
  17. i use ESP raptors and stiff riggers. the eye of the raptors are just sliiiiiightly too small for using with mono hooklink but the stiff riggers are great!
  18. i noticed that a lot of anglers used a stronger hooklink than their main line and could never work out why. i try and use a slightly lighter hooklink or the same breaking strain.
  19. kryston snakebite oooohhhh yeeaaahhh just for the picture if nothing else better off just getting coated braid mate coz u can have stiff links and flexible links together or alone. ooorrrrr u could buy silkworm and use ESP bristle filament for stiff links.
  20. wow well recovered. the gates of hell were opening!
  21. yeah i use the fox ones as well. sleeves fit well and keep everything crisssssp. ttsssss there strong too! i snapped my gardner bait needle in it. but to be honest i blame the crappy needle. had to use my own finger as a bait needle but they just kept crumbling to pieces
  22. only recently jumped on the kwik link bandwagon myself and i must say i am most impressed. why wasnt this thought of years ago??? wait.......i bet it was..... then WHY DID NOONE TELL ME! haha
  23. can anyone tell me if 'ESP bristle filament' is a mono or fluro?
