    And so it begins...

I've started with PVA solid bags with mixed carp pellets and crushed boilies, inside I'm putting in a hair rigged 15mm popup hookbait - on a very short (3cm - 5cm) 20lb coated braid hooklink, an inline lead size-appropriate for the water, connected to 15lb sensor mainline. Trapped a couple, 8 and 9quid respectively, the biggest in this tiny water is 11lb so it's not too bad! I'm off work all next week so spending this weekend assessing venues to target some bigger fish 😉

Probably something to do with my settings on the phone, it always saves the files really big. I've had 5 so far, all low doubles with the biggest being just under 16. Last fish wiped out my other rod, so had the fun and games of untangling it, wrapping both rods up and getting them back out. Hopefully get some kip soon because every time I take my waders off and get into bed one the rods rattle off 😂😂

Yes mate I tried to get a couple by balancing my phone on a bucket and shouting "cheese" not sure if it's my southern accent but it didn't pick it up every time I said it 😂 Here it is Not the best shot but it will do 👌

  4. The AXS poles are really supposed to go straight down, just that people chose to put them.on an angle to the bivvy pegs....if you get the Wrap, you'll see it needs to be used with the poles also, velcro inside it to attach to the wrap.

  5. Storm poles are usually only needed if heavy winds are expected do not need them all the time. hence the name . Bit of a crappy design if they are always needed

  6. It's a nice bivvy, it didn't let in any water during the heavy down pours I had yesterday. I did have a bit of condensation this morning but that can be sorted with an over wrap. That being said it dried out pretty quick. I'm really happy with it. Bargain for £100, I will give it a clean when I get chance then give it a good spray with fabsil. Got the vents up on the back this afternoon, really nice. So much so I best stay another night 😆😂 I might be missing something but I don't understand how the rod straps are supposed to work, the storm poles are in the way? 🤷‍♂️😂

It's always best to have as much detail in the original so don't try to reduce the quality. For many years I used Photoshop but when they introduced a monthly fee, I dropped it. I now use Affinity photo and it really is as good and for a one off fee of £47.99. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/ You can play about with the light setting and saturation quite easily and then resize the image at the end to fit on web pages and download quickly. Typically I use about 800 pixels wide for this Site.

Screenshots seem to be the best way to upload. Not sure about the 8mb thing, you are not the first to have this problem mate

    Rod Shots

They are just as easy to find in my experience on big lakes. Don't get me wrong, they look daunting but after a walk around it soon becomes just another lake.

Thanks mate yeah they all look tiny when doing a mat shot 😆 I've got a dslr at home, no idea how to use it though 😂 Had a 24lb 10oz common a few hours ago, started raining heavy, hooked into the fish and then lightning started cracking over the reservoir. Safe to say the rod didn't go back out until the storm passed lol.
