Gratuitous sunset shot from today.

Only chance to go out this month and took my daughter to a new water in Suffolk not used before. Although not huge still had 4 good sized carp as tend to target under 20's as I never weigh a catch. All caught on method feeder with chilli hemp and rod Hutchison naturals.

Thing this year, the temperatures and weather across the country have been so different from area to area. North of the country had the warm dry weather for a while, while East of East Anglia was cold and wet. Yet the Midlands was warm and wet, and a few lakes made it to temperature. As @levigsp has pointed out in the past though, if new males are stocked, as soon as it gets warm enough all the fish go for it, even if its only for a morning. That's a difficulty in itself as only 1 of the big fish has a known weight, and although seen, she hasn't been caught in the last 12months. A couple of the biggies are known males, and there are only 105 known fish in 45acres, with numbers of uncaught fish. One fish came out last night, which is possibly 5lb down, I've yet to see the pics, but it was a common and there are only 4 known commons in the lake, but none are known to be high doubles, they are mucho bigger!

Mate went the park lake today, only him on, no fish though, apparently he says quite a few said they be on tomorrow night for weekend (it's free fishing) and will be full with about 10 anglers fishing. If worst does happen while I'm there, I'll just have a good camp out 😁

More carp dog practice for Max - he is easier to handle at fishing than he is at home tbh - so far so good, this week I tried both dogs off lead whilst I barrowed to the swim - any fears he would run off were soon gone as he followed me close behind all the way - impressed! George wandered off as usual - not far but got told off several times, think he is trying to escape Max the poor old boy - not used to sharing.

2 nights 2 lakes due to spawning closures - no fish caught but a major carp home found - can't wait to get back and explore some more.
